September: Let’s GREEN Our Way Back to School
As we get back into gear for another school year, let’s think about some easy ways we can create a more earth-friendly atmosphere at SMCC Nursery School:
✓Picnic Day Lunches: Think about bringing reusable bottles and containers for your child’s lunch. Let’s try to reduce our use of plastic bottles. The less trash we create, the better.
✓Sunscreen: Sunscreen is still very important this time of year so don’t forget to apply it to your children each morning. However, look for the brands without parabens to ensure your children are not in contact with unnecessary chemicals.
✓Reusing Paper: Think about creating a place in your home for the reuse of school papers and junk mail - the backside of the paper in perfect for scribbling notes, coloring or practicing cutting!
✓Think about walking or riding to school one day a week. Carpooling is another way to reduce our footprint on the planet (and it saves time and money!)
✓Involve your kids in green activities at home - such as reducing water use and turning off the lights.
Remember... each action makes a difference!
