Becoming a New Member

How do I become a church member and what is expected of me once I join SMCC?

Membership at San Marino Community Church is open to all persons who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  Leadership is provided by staff, Board of Deacons and members of Session.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!!  Attend New Member Orientation held periodically throughout the year.  Attend a meeting of Session, the governing board of the congregation and be present on New Member Sunday when you are received into membership.

We ask that you commit to Jesus Christ and declare your faith as his disciple. That you obey Christ’s word and show his love. That you promise to care for your spiritual life and give of yourself in Christian living and that you will support San Marino Community Church with your prayers, presence, gifts and offerings.

The next new member class will be held Thursday and Friday nights, October 16 & 17 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Church Lounge.  Are you wondering about a relationship with the risen, living Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ?  Do you wonder what it means to be Presbyterian?  Are you considering joining this congregation?  Come and learn about the ministries available to strengthen your faith and equip you for service in the church and where you live and work.  New members will be received into membership by the Session and introduced to the congregation on Sunday, October 19, at the 11:15 am worship service.  Space is limited, so please sign up at the Information Center, call the church office at (626) 282-4181, or email at smcc@smccpby.com for more information.
