Who attends SMCC?
We welcome people of every age, ethnicity, and background, or wherever they may be in their spiritual journey.

*Note: Children are not considered members unless they complete Confirmation and choose membership; usually between ages 12 and 17.

Do you offer Sunday School programs for children and youth?
We offer Sunday School classes for 3-year olds through junior and senior high school ages during the 9:30 a.m. worship service. To learn more about Sunday School for children and youth, please visit Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry.

Is childcare available during Sunday worship?
Yes, childcare is available during Sunday worship service for infants to two-year olds.

 

Do you offer Christian education classes for adults?
Yes, we are very excited about the opportunities at SMCC to study and learn God’s word and to deepen our knowledge of Jesus Christ. To learn more about Christian education classes for adults please visit Adult Ministry.

Do I need to join in order to attend Sunday worship or participate in SMCC programs?
No, you don’t have to be a member of SMCC to attend Sunday worship or most of its other programs, including children’s Sunday School or Adult Bible Study classes. While we encourage membership, non-member attendees can receive our monthly newsletter and participate in a broad range of activities.

Are you open to interfaith families and individuals from other Christian denominations?
Yes! A number of SMCC members and attendees have partners from other faiths or are themselves from other Christian denominations. We welcome people of every age, ethnicity and background and serve as Christ’s disciples for our multicultural city and world.

Are there small groups I can join?
Yes! One of the beauties of SMCC is that there are so many small groups to choose from allowing members to develop new friendships, deepen relationships and find support. There are men’s fellowship groups, women’s fellowship groups, mixed fellowship groups, support groups and covenant groups. There’s something for everyone! How can I get involved in volunteer service?
We have a number of opportunities for you to reach out to the church and its surrounding community with the gifts you have been blessed with.  To learn more about the opportunities please visit Outreach Volunteer Opportunities.

How do I become a member?
Membership at SMCC is open to all persons who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. New Member Orientations are held as a series of Sunday morning classes and as a one-day class on Saturday. To find out more about how to become a member please visit Outreach Ministry.

Is San Marino Community Church Nursery School a religious school?
Although the Nursery School is located on the SMCC campus and is connected to SMCC, it is not a religious school. Children of any religion, race or ethnic origin are accepted and admitted on a non-discriminatory basis, and prospective applicants do not have to be church members, although members are given priority in the admissions process.
