Music Ministry
Chancel Choir
|
Music is an integral part of the worship service. It is a universal language and it is through hymns and anthems that we learn much about theology. These hymns anthems are essential to worship because they connect us to the history and experience of those who, in faith, have preceded us. |

The Chancel Choir, led by Dr. Glenn DeLange and accompanied by organist/pianist Lisa Edwards, rehearses on Thursday nights from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. They prepare anthems for each Sunday throughout the year (September-June) along with responses such as introits, benediction responses, and descants.
The choir also rehearses for special services and events such as our Christmas Cantata presented during the Sunday worship service, Easter Sunday Services, and Choir Recognition Sunday. The Chancel Choir has participated in two concert tours during the past ten years, one to Great Britain in 1995, and more recently, to Ireland in 1999.
The SMCC Chancel Choir welcomes participation from all levels of singers into their unique fellowship in song.
