Trip to Alaska (2003)
An excerpt from a speech given by one of our
youth members on her mission experience:
"Hi I'm Rachel, and as some of you know,
I went on last years Alaska trip. Joined with three other churches, our big
group helped the town of Angoon with Vacation Bible School and lent a couple
hands to the Rainbow Glacier Bay Camp.
In Angoon we taught the kids about many different things, mostly about the
bible, but also about California weather and what our schools were like. Besides
making a difference to the younger kids, we also hung out with the older
teenagers and gave a great time to just talk. In Rainbow Glacier Bay, we helped
restore the camp site and went through much labor to make the camp fun for the
upcoming years. In both places, many friends, memories, and inside jokes were
made, along with people's faith getting stronger..."
