Reaching Out, Raising Hope
Disaster Strikes . . . Ways We Can Help

San Marino Community Church joins with the world in expressing concerns for those devastated by the cyclone which ravaged Myanmar this past week.  In response, the Outreach Team has approved a disbursement of $4,000.00 to Church World Service (CWS) for disaster relief.

State officials have estimated the death toll at over 22,000 with over 40,000 people missing and millions homeless.  Washed-out roads have left many people in more remote areas completely inaccessible.  Priority emergency relief needs are food, water, shelter, medicines, and electricity.  CWS is initially providing emergency relief assistance, particularly food packages and shelter materials and anticipates the provision of long-term assistance through several of its partners, among them, the Myanmar Council of Churches.

The scope of the damage and the number of people affected is staggering.  But there is a force that is even stronger than the devastating effects of wind and weather:  God's boundless love!  Reach out and raise hope to the thousands of victims in Myanmar.

The Outreach Team is encouraging individuals to make contributions to match this response through a variety of agencies mobilized for relief.  Learn more about the ongoing efforts by visiting the following websites and pray for those impacted by this disaster and those working to assist the survivors.
