Outreach Opportunity
Back to School Program -

"
A Backpack Full of God's Love"

Pencils, paper, and other school supplies can be a tangible expression of God's love to those with few resources.  During August, San Marino Community church will partner with Palabra de Fe, a small Presbyterian ministry in Monrovia, in its annual Back to School Program, outfitting children of low-income families in the area with backpacks and school supplies.  Families are interviewed and registered into the program to ensure that those most in need receive assistance.  When parents are struggling to put food on the table, the money needed to purchase required school supplies can become a financial burden.  This burden can turn children's excitement about going back to school into embarrassment and low self-esteem.  With the help of San Marino Community Church's members and friends, Palabra de Fe will spread the Good News in both word and deed, giving children the tools they need to start the school year off right!   Contact the Church Office at (626) 282-4181 for more information or visit the table in the courtyard this Sunday to sign up to be a part of this unique opportunity to reach out with the love of God.
